CSU Summer Arts!!

After graduating SJSU with a BFA in Animation - I took a short break and then got back into the thick of it at CSU Summer Arts!!
I had the opportunity to take the Animation class and learn from some of the coolest, down to earth, knowledgeable, and inspiring instructors like the great Aubry Mintz, Ryan Woodward, and Orlando Pabotoy.
And... got to take the Nickelodeon: An Overview from Development to Pitch class!!
Where, I think I learned/rediscovered my second love: TV pitch development. :]
Learning all about Storytelling, and sculpting a story from the ground up is an amazing experience and immensely rewarding sharing it with others.

Here's a cartoon sketch one of our guest instructors and awesome Nickelodeon Artists - Rikke Asbjorn.
Afterwards we'd play loads of frizz-bee and jump around on the beach :]

Disney Inspire Days!!

Way back when.... (in Fall 2013)
The hard work and long hours started to pay off!
I was one of a few students from SJSU to get to attend and be inspired by the amazing event -
Disney Inspire Days!!!

Some of the other SJSU - fellow Shrunkenheads include:
Kristy Kay, Youri Dekker, Dan Galligar, Jule Kenville, Lauren Jensen, Brie Lee, and Alex Turner.

Looking back - Fun Fact

Looking back to that time in Laguna for Goldberg's master class - I found this amazing nugget of a photo of some of the crew that worked on the short.

Fun fact - Katrina Carras - the girl in the center with the yellow jacket told my buddy Nick about where he ended up getting his current job at Telltale!

 YAH!! Goof-ball networking!!

LCAD - Eric Goldberg Master Class

Back in the Summer of 2012,

I had the amazing chance and opportunity to learn from one of my all time heroes
ERIC GOLDBERG!!!
I learned all about x-sheets, timing, spacing, and just how fun animation can be.
By the end of the summer long workshop, the class made an awesome little short film titled -
"Attack of the 50 - foot Hero"

The class was featured in a number of big animation news outlets!

Responding to this ad and submitting on a whim - changed my life for the better :]

Here's the short film!

Graduating and Getting out!!

Back in the Spring of 2014....

I GRADUATED COLLEGE!!

With some of the most amazing, and incredibly hard working fun-to-be-around people I've ever known. Below are a few photos of Graduation Day, and the BFA Animation Illustration Department Dinner.
Also, earlier in 2013 - Diana and I got a new and awesome room mate - my long time co-Hort in crime and one of my best friends - Nick Marshall! We've had the chance to work on a handful of projects together over the years, and now seeing him off working at Telltale as one of their Cinematic Artists is great to see how far he's gone with this crazy "art" thing.. lol
These guys!! Keith and Michael helped make my last year at SJSU incredible. Keith was the Director of the short film "Hello Debra" I got to be an animator on, and Michael was our class's production management guru. Both taught me invaluable lessons of pursuing what you love and ditching all the nay-say-ers.

Odd video Issue with previous Posts

Hi All,

Upon revisiting previous posts from what now feels like another life time, I'm realizing some video links aren't working properly - So - Sorry for the lack of video watching/payoff/content with posts. Over the next few coming weeks I'll be working to resolve those issues as well as doing a long series of LONG OVERDUE UPDATES with more current work I've been up.

Thanks for understanding,
- Kevin

Bernard and Trudy

Hi All,
So, it's been awhile since my last post. School has been keeping me super busy but, here is a little sampling of what I've been up to. The audio from this shot comes from an 11 Sec Club Competition. Had a lot of fun with this finding ways to economize and simplify down the character's movements. There are still some things I'd like to add to it to sweeten up the acting however, felt it was way past due to update the blog. Enjoy and I'd love to hear your thoughts
